Meet Maryanne

About Maryanne

Maryanne’s career has always centred around people, service and determination. She began working at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre in a variety of hospitality roles and, through hard work and persistence, worked her way up to Duty Manager, a position she held after a remarkable 19-year career with the organisation.

Maryanne also proudly served in the Australian Army as a Bombardier in the Transport Division, where she learned to drive buses and 18-gear trucks. During her service, she became one of the first female Physical Training Instructors in her unit, an achievement that reflects the determination, resilience and leadership qualities she continues to bring to her work and everyday life.

Her passion for helping others later led her into the aged care sector, where she spent six years working in Home Care, earning her Certificate III in Aged Care and becoming a Dementia Specialist. She then worked as a Community Support Adviser with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for three years, travelling throughout New South Wales and supporting veterans and their families.

It was this extensive background in customer service, leadership, transport, aged care and community support that eventually led her to Ladies Running Errands, where she found the perfect way to combine her love of helping people with her natural ability to connect with everyone she meets.

Clients appreciate Maryanne’s reliability, commitment, warmth and ability to put people at ease. She can strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone and is known for bringing plenty of laughter along for the ride. Whether she’s helping with an airport transfer, accompanying a client to an appointment or organising a special day out, Maryanne believes life’s challenges are often made easier with kindness, compassion and a healthy sense of humour. It’s no surprise that many of her clients affectionately refer to her as the “Shire Fairy Godmother.”

A proud mum of four adult children and grandmother, when she’s not helping clients, you’ll likely find Maryanne at the gym, catching up with friends over coffee, planning her next getaway, or perhaps searching for flamingos somewhere around the world. In fact, she has even played with flamingos in Aruba!

Her personal motto?

“The impossible just takes a little longer.”

And if you ask her clients, they’d probably tell you she proves that’s true every single day.
