About Effy

For Effy Drosinos, helping people has always been at the heart of everything she does.

The daughter of Greek migrants, Effy’s father was born in Athens and her mother in Corfu. Her family arrived in Australia in 1969 and settled in Sydney’s St George region, where Effy attended Tempe Primary School and Tempe High School. Having lived and worked in the area for most of her life, she knows the St George community inside and out and is proud to call it home.

Effy’s career journey has been as diverse as it has been impressive. She began working in Real Estate at just 17 years of age before purchasing and operating her own convenience store in Surry Hills. Her entrepreneurial spirit and love of people were evident from an early age and continue to shape the way she approaches business today.

The pull of her Greek heritage eventually took her overseas, where she spent seven months living and working in Greece. She worked in Mykonos during the busy summer season, travelled extensively through the Greek Islands, explored France and Italy, and spent time living in Athens. Fluent in Greek and deeply connected to her culture, Effy embraces the best of both worlds, proudly describing herself as an Australian with the heart of a true Greek.

Back in Australia, Effy built a successful career in retail management before moving into the medical sector, where she spent nine years as a Practice Manager. Working alongside doctors, nurses and administration teams, she developed a deep appreciation for patient care and found enormous satisfaction in helping people navigate some of life’s more challenging times.

It was this passion for helping others that ultimately led her to Ladies Running Errands.

Today, Effy and her dedicated St George Ladies Running Errands team provide a wide range of personalised support services throughout the region. She is particularly passionate about assisting older Australians, people living with disability, and members of the Greek community who may benefit from culturally familiar support and companionship.

Effy has developed a strong reputation for providing reliable NDIS-compatible services and is especially well known for companion services, including accompanying clients to medical appointments and day surgery procedures. Her clients value the reassurance of knowing someone caring, capable and experienced is by their side when they need it most.

Outside of work, Effy loves travelling, camping, scuba diving and embracing new adventures. One of her proudest achievements was fulfilling a lifelong dream of spending eight weeks travelling through Africa, an experience she describes as one of the greatest adventures of her life.

For Effy, Ladies Running Errands is about more than transport or errands. It’s about connection, community and ensuring that no one has to face life’s challenges alone.
